Hello, you are one of the main Monofins Builder all over the World, maybe the best one at the moment, the Rocketfins, tell us how and when did you start your activity.
Well, We started to make a fins 5 years ago. It was not at first time and not for money, We were just searching for the opportunity to improving our results to be able to fight with other world famous sportsman. When We began to made a fins for Ourself, cause at that moment there were only 2 good manufacturers in the World (Andronov and Salmin) and both of them used to ask a lot of money and take much time to make a mono. We even didn’t think that We will would become one of the best monofins builders. We made more then 100 monofins before We found the perfect one, then We began to be a leader at the swimming pool and long distance finswimming, after it many foreign athletes shown their interest to try Our monofins. It was Our first achievement! Then, We decided that it could be a good business for Us and we didn’t stop on it, work on it better and more. Almost every month We receive new requests from many Finswimmers who want to be Champions and Our goal is to help them! And We are very happy when sportsman get their targets.

Which kind of Monofins do you prefere, old (flat) or new style (gyperfin) and why?
Of course We prefere the new (hyper) monofins, cause it’s the new generation in finswimming and this kind of fins are easy to use for both beginners and elite-level athletes. Old (flat) monofins – it’s yesterday, We think.

How many time do you spend to build a Handmade Monofin?
All of our monofins are 100% handmade, that’s a secret of Our success. 1 monofin takes about 2-3 days!

Are you satisfied about results of Finswimmers that use your Monofins?
Yes, We very satisfied when every Rocketfin athlete thanks Us, after they increase their results every championship.

What is your Web Site? Do you think that internet is a “good help” for Finswimming? Why?
Our web-site is under construction. Yes, I think that internet is a good help for everything, not only for finswimming. A lot of people looking for something there.

Did you was a Finswimmer in the past? If yes tell us your best results! If not how did you discover this sport?
Yes, but We are still finswimming!!! Our last best result is: 2 Gold medals at World Games 2009 (relay4x100 and Soroka Igor on 50apnea) and etc…

If you could do something to let Finswimming grow up, what would you do?
We try to make everything We can…But for the moment I plan to made a commercial competition for children in Ukraine.

Find a positive aspect and a negative one of Finswimming. Is Finswimming famous in your country, Ukraine?
It’s individual I think for everybody…We hope in future finswimming will be in the Olympic Games program. Last time in Ukraine is very popular this kind of sport.

Do you think that Monofins may change in the future, as we have seen in the last 10 years?
We are working on it every day:)

Ciao Igor and Viktor, voi siete, in quanto Rocketfin, uno dei maggiori costruttori di Pinne e Monopinne di tutto il Mondo, dicci come e quando hai iniziato la tua atività.
Mah, abbiamo iniziato a costruire una Monopinna 5 anni fa. Non era per soldi, stavamo solo cercando il modo di migliorare i nostri risultati per riuscire a competere con gli atleti più forti del mondo. Quando iniziammo a costruire le Monopinne per noi stessi, nel Mondo esistevano solo due maggiori costruttori (Andronov and Salmin) ed entrambi chiedevano molti soldi e troppo tempo per costruirle. Io proprio non pensavo che saremmo riusciti a diventare ciò che siamo ora. Abbiamo fatto più di 100 pinne di prova per ottenere il risultato attuale, poi piano piano siamo diventati i Leader sia in Piscina, sia nelle lunghe distanze, e dopo molti atleti stranieri hanno iniziato a dimostrare interesse per le nostre attrezzature. Era il nostro primo triondfo! Solamente più tardi, decidemmo che sarebbe potuto diventare il nostro lavoro e non abbiamo mai smesso di farlo, ci lavoriamo sempre di più e sempre meglio. Ogni mese riceviamo richieste di atleti che vorrebbero diventare dei campioni, o solamente riuscire a migliorare se stessi, e il nostro obiettivo è di aiutarli! E noi siamo molto orgogliosi quando riescono ad ottenere i loro obiettivi.

Che tipo di Monopinne preferisci, vecchie (cioè quelle piatte) o le nuove (gyperfin) e perchè?
Sicuramente le nuove monopinne (hyper), perchè sono la “nuova generazione” del Nuoto Pinnato e perchè sono molto facili da usare sia per i neofiti, sia per quelli più esperti. Le vecchie (piatte) Monopinne – sono il “ieri”, almeno così la pensiamo noi.

In media quanto tempo impieghi a costruire le Monopinne artigianali?
Tutte le nostre Monopinne sono 100% artigianali, questo è il segreto del nostro successo. 1 Monopinna ci prende circa 2-3 giorni!

Sei soddisfatto dei risultati che i pinnatisti ottengono con le tue Monopinne?

Se tu potessi far qualcosa per far crescere il Nuoto Pinnato, cosa faresti?
Cerchiamo di fare tutto ciò che possiamo…Il nostro obiettivo attuale è di creare una gara commerciale per giovanissimi in Ucraina.

Trova un aspetto negativo ed uno positivo del Nuoto Pinnato. Il nostro sport è famoso nella tua Nazione, l’Ucraina?
E’ una cosa individuale…Speriamo che in futuro il pinnato possa entrare ai Giochi Olimpici. Ultimamente il nostro sport è molto famoso in Ucraina.

Pensi che le Monopinne possano cambiare ulteriormente in futuro, come abbiamo visto negli ultimi 10 anni?
Certamente, per questo noi lavoriamo ogni giorno!
