La Nuit de l’Eau, a big success for the Finswimming and UNICEF
On Saturday, March 20 was held for the third time the event called “La Nuit de l’Eau”. The event organized by the French Federation of Swimming and UNICEF aims to contribute to access to water areas disadvantaged of the World. The pilot site of the swimming competition was the Vallerey Swimming Pools located in the 20th arrondissement of Paris.
This event was also an opportunity for the Finswimming to get distinguish. So a relay of solidarity achieved by
celebrities and an exhibition of French synchronized swimming team, the Finswimming has slipped for the program. For nearly quarter minutes, 9 internationals finswimmers (Andrey Burakov, Natalia Adaikina, Nikolaï Tover, Francesca Shreiber, Tina Hirschfeldt, Miguel Rodriguez, Erven Morice, Alona Kotchetkova et Antoine Aouidad) were launched. Each of them went to his 50 meters and then take turns for 5 minutes to swim the longest distance possible. They have achieved 750 meters in front of dozens of journalists (press and television), celebrities and great swimmers (Alain Bernard, Coralie Balmy, Hugues Duboscq, Antoine Galavtin,…). This distance is also a synonym for 750 euro donation to the UNICEF. It is therefore legitimate to congratulate the whole team FinSpirit (Sami Abdelkhalek and Melanie Menard particular), volunteers come to the PPO (Paris Palme Olympique) regulate the initiation of the monofins, which our finswimmers represented our discipline can not be better and of course Anthony Aouidad who is behind the project. The development of our sport through this kind of event that needs to be an example for federations.
Finally, I suggest you watch a short interview of Hugh Duboscq, triple Olympic medalist and vice-world champion in breaststroke, you will not think well of our discipline.
