Cmas World Cup 2012 Round 1 – Hungary

The Hungarian Divers Federation with the CMAS authorization organizes during the days 25th-26th of February 2012, the finswimming race, 1st series for VII. CMAS World Cup 2012. The competition will take place in the “Bitskey Aladár Swimming-pool” in Eger. The swimming-pool has a length of 50 m., a width of 8 lanes, depth of 2 m, electronic scoreboard and about 1500 spectator’s seats. The temperature of water is 26 °C +1°C.

The A.S.D. BLUE TEAM with the agreement of C.M.A.S. and F.I.P.S.A.S. has the pleasure to invite you at the “4rd LIGNANO SABBIADORO TROPHY” , an International Finswimming Competition valid also for the CMAS WORLD CUP 2011 will be held in Lignano Sabbiadoro (UD) on March 23th, 24th and 25th of 2012.

Stefano Figini VS the 4 Best Vikings Swimmers

Here the video of the special race between Stefano Figini and the 4 Best Classical Swimmers of the Vikings Club of Rouen, taken on Saturday Night November 19th 2011 during the International Swimming Meeting called Arena Sprint. Stefano swam 200mts while them swam a relay 4x50mts, starting about 10 seconds before our Champion with the Monofin.

Results Nemo Trophy 2011 – Zlin – Czech Rep.

Here all the results from the Nemo Trophy 2011, a famous International Finswimming competition taken in the town of Zlin in Czech Republic. We can notice some nice good results like the “unusual” race of 200mt Immersion, in which Denes Kanio swam the time of 1’17″65! And again in 1500mt sf the winner swam 12’44″60…but guess who! And rumors say that he is coming back to compete next year! Results also show that Hajnalka Debreceni and Zuzana Svozilova will be very strong in the upcoming season (Hajnalka 7:07,74 on 800m IM).

Kad (Kids as Dolphins) è un progetto educativo mirato alla salvaguardia e alla sicurezza del bambino in acqua. Attraverso il gioco, l’esecuzione degli esercizi egli apprenderà tutti quei comportamenti, nozioni, e regole importanti per aumentare la sua “consapevolezza” in acqua, il suo autoascolto e per porsi in un nuovo modo accanto ai compagni di gruppo. Il corso si svolgerà il 3 e 4 Dicembre 2011 – presso il Centro Natatorio Lido Azzurro Varedo.

Zagreb Finswimming Stage – 05/11/2011

They already hosted this year Maksym Moroz (Ukraine), former European Long Distance Champion, and Gergely Juhos (Hungary), former World Champion in 400fs and 800fs: now Diving Club GERONIMO from Zagreb will expand their Geronimo Academy program receiving on Saturday, November 5th, two “giants” of the Italian Finswimming movement. The first, Riccardo Galli, is former World Junior Championship and European Senior Championship in 100fs; the second is the recent pluri-decorated World Champion and holder of several World records, Stefano Figini.

The program will be split in two parts: during the educational one Galli and Figini will hold a seminar about finswimming technique and tips for short and middle distance disciplines; the second part is a competition where attendants can already improve their performances. By the way, this competition is the 3rd leg of developping Regional League of Finswimming, which involves clubs from Serbia, Bosnia and RK Geronimo itself.

Dopo aver gia’ ospitato quest’anno Maksym Moroz (UKR), ex campione Europeo di fondo, e Gergely Juhos (HUN), ex campione del Mondo nei 400 e negli 800, il club di attivita’ subacquee RK Geronimo di Zagabria, tramite il suo programma Geronimo Academy, ospitera’ sabato 5 novembre due “monumenti” del pinnato italiano, Riccardo Galli, gia’ Campione Mondiale Giovanile e Campione Europeo sui 100, e il pluri-titolato Campione del Mondo e detentore di vari record mondiali in carica, Stefano Figini.

L’iniziativa si articola in due fasi: quella formativa dove Galli e Figini spiegheranno la tecnica del pinnato, come preparare le discipline di velocita’ e di mezzofondo, e quella agonistica con una gara in cui i partecipanti al seminario possano subito cimentarsi. Questa gara e’ tra l’altro il 3o turno della nascente Lega Regionale di Nuoto Pinnato che attualmente vede coinvolti club della Serbia e della Bosnia, oltre al RK Geronimo

Finswimming Course in Lisbon, Portugal

The 1st and 2nd October 2011 a course of introduction to Finswimming was held in the pool ABVE (Association of Volunteer Fire Estoril) of Lisbon, (Portugal).

The FPAS (Portuguese Federation of Underwater Activities) has the initiative to actively promote dynamic apnea, shooting underwater and Finswimming (Natação com Barbatanas) and so he invited three members of the FEDA (Spanish Federation of Underwater Activities) to teach the course.

The rules of the discipline was given by Vice-Chairman of National Committee of Finswimming and international referee CMAS (CMAS Judge Delegate), Manuel Castro Casal. The technical part was given by the coach of the National Committee of Finswimming, head of the Department of Finswimming of the EC Mediterranean FECDAS and coach, Ivan Alonso Portela. And, as a representative of the athletes came in Catalan, Miguel Rodriguez Munoz, finswimmer of the Spanish FEDAS, national recordman of the Mediterranean Commission, which was responsible for demonstrations at the pool.

They found among the participants, coaches and classical swimmers, underwater hockey players and underwater fishing athletes, and they were always very interested in the theoretical sessions and were very motivated during the session of water which could make training “base” of Finswimming testing the Monofin (monobarbatana) for the first time.

In brief, the Commission Swimming with fins of FPAS plans to partecipate to some of the major competitions held in Spain and thus ended up making a better idea of how globally this exciting underwater sport.

My friend Miguel from Sportalsub just sent me the complete results from the last round, the Golden one, of the Cmas Finwimming World Cup 2011, that was hold in the city of Yantai – China on September 17th – 19th 2011. Unluckly they are scanned from original papers and the quality is not very good, but readable. It seems that the Russian Finswimmer Pavel Kabanov Swam the New World Record on 50 mts apnea with the time of 14.10!!!

Risultati Mezzofondo e Staffetta 2011 – Milano

Un sabato caldo e soleggiato e una domenica fredda e diluviosa hanno accompagnato lo svolgimento dei Campionati Italiani di Nuoto Pinnato di Mezzofondo e Staffetta, presso il Parco Idroscalo di Milano. La manifestazione si è svolta soltanto il primo giorno con le staffette Master e parte della seconda giornata, e successivamente le Assolute, in quanto le forti piogge condite con una buona dose di lampi e tuoni della domenica, hanno costretto gli organizzatori ad annullare la gara per ovvi motivi di sicurezza.

Ma torniamo alle gare, la staffetta Master maschile NP è stata vinta dalla Nord Padania Varedo con Sanvito (M45), Russo (M25) e Pantaleo (M30), poi Blu Atlantis e Nuoto Pinnato Vicenza. Per la sezione Pinne vediamo al primo posto Gao Brinella Benedetti (M35), Rossi (M35) e Guidoni (M30) seguiti da Blu Atlantis e Nuoto Pinnato Vicenza. Per le donne NP Blu Atlantis con Bugnoli (M35), Pilotti (M35) Pagliai (M40), e in seguito Nord Padania e Pinnaverde. Nella specialità Pinne si posizionano rispettivamente Blu Atlantis con Gianola (M35), Cavallazzi (M35) e Fazio (M40), Gao Brinella e Nord Padania.

Nella categoria Assoluta NP, vediamo al primo posto il Record Team Bologna sia per la staffetta maschile che femminile. Per i maschi vediamo i nomi di Battista, Campana e De Ceglie, seguiti da Nuoto Nuoto Bologna e Tarvisium. Per le donne Capponcelli, Melotti e Baroncini, e a seguire NC Milano e Blu Atlantis. Nella sezione Pinne maschile: Gao Brinella (Rispoli, Musarra e Milano), Blu Atlantis e Gonzatti. Nelle donne Nuovo Nuoto Bologna (Bondi, Ortolani e Catani), Gonzatti e Gao Brinella.

Summer Break! See ya in September!!!

Wow that was a very good Year for the Finswimming World. In less than a month the two major Competitions took place in Hungary. We saw a lot of Fights and Records Broken in the Junior European Championships in Miskolc and the Senior World Championships in Hódmezővásárhely! Now the time for a really deserved holiday has come! Soo see ya in September and October for the next and the last competitions of the 2010/2011 Season like the Final round of the Cmas World Cup and other ones!

Ps. I am so sorry to have left you during the Finswimming World Championships, but as you can easily imagine, Finswimmer Magazine is not my primary job, I do it for free and for fun. Instead I got another work and I have to follow other timing rules…and I’m so lucky that I can manage both of them at the same time

Now it’s the Girls’ turn. We chose the best female finswimmers taken from the World Ranking that All-Finswimming.com frequently updates. So, take your choice and choose who will be the Best Female Finswimmer at the next World Championships. About the Men Results, the “Winner” is Dzmitry Gavrilov (19%, 85 Votes), followed by Vitaly Filippovych (19%, 84 Votes) and third Cesare Fumarola (9%, 40 Votes).

Risultati Campionati Italiani Assoluti – Livorno

Già disponibili i risultati completi dei Campionati Italiani Assoluti Estivi di Nuoto Pinnato Velocità 2011, che con un totale di 156 Atleti appartenenti a ben 27 Clubs Italiani, hanno preso vita nella splendida e velocissima piscina comunale Livornese “Simeone Camalich” ieri e oggi 02-03 Luglio 2011. Questa è stata l’ultima prova disponibile per potersi qualificare per i Campionati Mondiali Assoluti di Nuoto Pinnato in programma a fine Luglio/inizio Agosto nella città di Hódmezővásárhely in Ungheria. Aspettiamo solo le convocazioni ufficiali da parte dello Staff Tecnico!
