At last all the results from the 5th Round of the Cmas World Cup in Finswimming are available. The competition was held in Palma de Mallorca on May 20-21-22 2011. Best results by Stefano Figini on 800 sf, Pavel Kabanov on 50 ap, Cesare Fumarola on 100 sf, Zuzana Svozilova in 800 sf, Francesca Fusco on 50 bf and Andrea Nava on 200 sf. there were also Long Distance competitions, with Sara Turrini and Alexey Shafigulin for women and men and Sofia Mukhina and Nikolay Zhanoronkov for girls and boys. Next Round of the Cmas World Cup will be held in Linz, Austria.

Ok I know that this is one of the most discussed topics in our sport, and the most of you believe that one day well reach our goal, but I want to discuss about it…Ok I think there is not only one answer to it. Maybe we can say it’s because we don’t have money, or perhaps there aren’t Companies interested to sponsor us…or it is possible that because the Classical Swimming is already present into the Games, two similar acquatic sports are too many. Then there is the “2 minutes before the start” that has a not very well “TV appeal” (I mean when a finswimmer should wear his own fin, so with soap, etc etc), but more simply, we have to wait days before we can get a Cmas World Cup Round results…

Today the Finswimming Cmas World Cup Round 5 will begin. The first competitions will be 4000 long distance male and women. The location is in Portocolom-Felanitx (Majorca) – Illes Balears-Spain. MAP of the Long Distance location. The Swimming Pool competitions will begin tomorrow in the Son Hugo Complex. We remember that it was used last year for the Finswimming Youth World Championships.

Here all the results from the latest round (4th) of the CMAS World Cup in Finswimming, that took place in the German city of Leipzig on May 14-15 2011. A lot of nice results like Sven Lützkendorf that swam 6:20.11 in 800 sf, very closed to his own World Record, and again he swam 400 sf in 3:01.09 , German Record, we remember that the World Record owner is Stefano Figini with 2.58.64. Another Finswimmer that shown his capabilities is the 21 yo Lauschus Max in 400 sf with 3:01.73. And Odynokov Oleksandr in 800 sf 6.25.65. 200 sf was spectacular, and we could see Oefner Christoph 1:22.95 and Lauschus Max 1:22.98! The next round will be taken in Palma de Mallorca next week end 20 – 21 and 22 May 2011!
