25th Leipzig Sprint Cup & Kaderförderlehrgang – Finswimming event in Leipzig - Finswimmer Magazine

The official announcement for the 25th edition of the legendary Leipziger Sprintpokal is out.

📍 Venue: Wassersportzentrum – University of Leipzig

Location: Universitätsschwimmhalle, 4, Mainzer Straße, Bachviertel, center west, Mitte, Lipsia, Sassonia, 04109, Germania

This competition is also part of the Saxon State Championships 2025.

The whole program is high-speed, short distances and pure sprint racing:
100m, 50m, relays and all classic finswimming disciplines including bi-fins, apnea and surface.

Special highlights:

Hans-Joachim Minow Memorial Cup – awarded to the fastest mixed 4×50 FS relay
Supermix Anniversary Relay – a 4x50m crazy relay to celebrate the 25th edition!
ST – BF – AP – FS in one race, open to everyone: athletes, coaches, parents, supporters…
Only 32 teams, first come – first served.

Electronic timing: Swiss Timing Quantum Aquatics.

Athletes must have valid medical clearance not older than 1 year.
Bi-fins events are strictly only with commercial stereofins (no monofins allowed).

The Landestauchsportverband Sachsen officially published the information for the 2025 squad support training day.

The event will be held on 29 November 2025 at the Wassersportzentrum / Campus Sportwissenschaftliche Fakultät – University of Leipzig.

Target group:
Saxon State Squad athletes + NK1/PK of VDST + selected athletes from other german federations.

Training content:

Video-based technique analysis
Finswimming technique + turn technique with fins
Applied warm up strategies for performance
Practical exercises for axis stability of the legs (MaZe) – important for propulsion, efficiency and injury prevention
