2nd FRÜHLINGSPOKAL AND 44th SOUTH GERMAN CHAMPIONSHIPS IN FINSWIMMING 2025

Location: Roland Matthes Schwimmhalle, Johann-Sebastian-Bach-Straße, Löbervorstadt, Erfurt, Turingia, 99096, Germania

The 2nd Frühlingspokal and 44th South German Championships in Finswimming will take place on March 29-30, 2025, in Erfurt, Germany. The competition is set to bring together top finswimmers from Germany and abroad, following the regulations of the German Diving Sports Federation (VDST) and CMAS.

Event Details

  • Date: March 29-30, 2025
  • Venue: Roland Matthes Swimming Hall, Erfurt
  • Pool: 50m, 8 lanes, 26°C water temperature, electronic timing
  • Registration Deadline: March 18, 2025

Participation and Regulations

The event is open to finswimmers with a valid VDST competition license and international athletes whose national federations are CMAS members. All participants must present their official competition documents and a valid medical certificate (not older than one year). Minors need parental consent.

Competitors born between 1995 and 1986 must choose between the Open or Masters category at registration, with no changes allowed afterward.

Competition Format

Races will follow VDST and CMAS rules. Technical equipment checks will be conducted before races. For Bi-Fin and Delphinbewegung (DB) races, only commercially available stereo fins are permitted. The event includes individual and relay races across different distances.

Race Schedule

March 29, 2025 (Saturday)

  • Morning Session: 50m apnea, 200m finswimming, 400m Bi-Fins, 4x50m mixed relay, 1500m finswimming
  • Afternoon Session: 4x100m SB-mixed relay, 50m DB, 50m Bi-Fins, 400m finswimming, 100m and 800m surface swimming, 4x200m relay

March 30, 2025 (Sunday)

  • Morning Session: 50m, 100m, 200m races in finswimming, Bi-Fins, and surface swimming
  • Afternoon Session: 4x100m relays, final races, and award ceremony

Awards and Points System

The event features multiple ranking systems:

  1. International Open Ranking: Includes all participants regardless of nationality.
  2. South German Ranking: Exclusive to participants from the organizing state diving federations.
  3. South German Cup Ranking: Points awarded based on performance, with the best competitors receiving trophies.
  4. Frühlingspokal Team Ranking: Team standings based on accumulated points, with relay events earning double points.

Registration and Fees

  • Registration Deadline: March 18, 2025
  • Individual Entry Fee: €6 per race
  • Relay Entry Fee: €8 per race
  • Payment: Bank transfer before the event

Late withdrawals and corrections are allowed until March 26, 2025, at 10:30 AM. No changes are permitted after the official start lists are published.

Additional Information

  • Live results will be available online.
  • All competitors must comply with VDST anti-doping regulations.
  • Teams are responsible for their travel and accommodation.
  • The swimming facility has limited parking, and alternative parking areas are recommended.
