Finswimming is one of the most exciting water sport ever. Finswimming is a sport belonging to the aquatic specialties which, using specific equipment (monofin, fins, snorkel or cylinders) allows the athlete to reach much higher speeds than swimming. There are indoor (swimming pools) and open water (sea, lake, rivers) championships.

To which federation belongs Finswimming?

The international federation to which fin swimming belongs is CMAS, the Confédération Mondial des Activités Subaquatiques, which is part of the ARISF, and is a discipline recognized by the IOC.

Is there an age limit to join Finswimming?

Finswimming is suitable for any age . In fact, there are competitions for very young people, for children and adults and for veterans, over 25 years old.

Dutch Open Finswimming Championship 2024 - Finswimmer Magazine

Dear finswimmers,
On behalf of the Dutch association for underwater sports (NOB) it is my pleasure to invite you to the Dutch Open Finswimming Championship 2024 on 8 and 9 June 2024, which will take place in the Pieter van den Hoogenband Swimming Stadium in Eindhoven.

This year we organize this tournament for the 46st time in the Pieter van den Hoogenband Swimming Stadium. A tournament where all fin swimmers, including young children and veterans, can participate, not only from the Netherlands but also from other countries.

And let’s not forget that in addition to the almost 150 fin swimmers, many volunteers are also active to make this event a great success.

We would like to see you all in Eindhoven, so that we can have a fantastic weekend together, with great enthusiasm, good sporting performances and a respectful tournament.
