As you certainly already know, this is a very particular period because of the notorious Corona Virus (ak COVID-19), the new virus “born” in the Chinese city of Wuhan, 11 millions residents now under quarantine. The scientific community has not yet found a cure for this ugly plague that afflicts people. Some countries are starting to limit flights to and from China. For what concerns our little world called “Finswimming“, during the next week week end the 1st Round of the CMAS World Cup 2020 will take place in the city of Eger (Hungary).
Some questions suddenly hit ourselves.
- Are Chinese finswimmers going to take part to this round? And if things will go on without positive changes, to any of the the others?
- What about other countries? Will they feel safe to send finswimmers all around the globe with airplanes?
- What about Finswimming World Championships in Russia from 9th to 15th of July 2020? Note that the Russian city of Tomsk is located in Siberia and is very close to China, only 870 kms.
- What are CMAS purposes about it?
We really hope that this situation will be solved as soon as possible.
