The Federación Española de Actividades Subacuáticas (FEDAS), together with the Federación Aragonesa de Actividades Subacuáticas (FARAS), has officially released the regulations for the 2025 Federative Control for Pre-Selection in Finswimming and Immersion Speed. The event will take place on 13–14 December 2025 at CD Stadium Casablanca in Zaragoza, gathering the country’s top Pre-Senior and Senior athletes aiming for national recognition and future international selection.
A Key Event for Spain’s Elite Finswimmers
This Federative Control serves as an essential step in the FEDAS pre-selection pathway, determining which swimmers will move forward in the national ranking and selection processes. The competition is open to athletes holding a valid FEDAS license, with participation strictly conditioned by meeting minimum time standards and appearing in the 2024–2025 official FEDAS ranking.
The event focuses on individual performance, with categories divided into:
-
Pre-Senior (athletes born in 2008 or later)
-
Senior (athletes born in 2007 or earlier)
Both male and female categories will compete across a wide range of finswimming disciplines.
Venue and Competition Format
The competition will be held in a 50-meter indoor pool, featuring eight lanes and regulated water temperature. Over two days, athletes will compete in time-trial series (series contra el reloj) based on official times from FEDAS rankings.
The program includes classic finswimming disciplines such as:
-
50m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, and 1500m Surface (SF)
-
50m, 100m, 200m, 400m Bi-Fins (BF)
-
50m Apnea (AP)
-
100m and 200m Immersion (IM)
-
4x100m Surface Mixed Relay
Each event has a limited athlete quota, and swimmers may enter a maximum of three races, making strategic choice of distances more important than ever.
Qualification Standards and Scoring
Minimum entry times are outlined clearly for both men and women, ensuring that only high-level competitors take part. Final rankings will be determined by the sum of each swimmer’s two best points-scored events, calculated using the CMAS table adapted to Spanish 50m-pool national records.
The top eight finalists in each category—male and female, Pre-Senior and Senior—will receive official FEDAS commemorative diplomas.
