The National Final of the 2014/2025 Finswimming Student Olympics 2025 was held on Saturday, May 31. Unlike last year’s competition, there was no rain, no storm, and the students competed in bright sunshine at the Dr. Csépe György Swimming Pool in Gyöngyös.
Nearly three hundred finswimmers participated in the prestigious Hungarian competition. In six age groups and two categories (“A” and “B”), the athletes competed in the 50m and 100m freestyle fins, 50m surface swimming and 50m butterfly fins. The 1st-3rd place competitors in each event received medals, and the 4th-6th place competitors received certificates. Thanks to the cooperation between Hervis and the Hungarian School Sport Federation, all participants in the national final and their companions received a gift voucher worth 5,000 HUF.
In the “A” category, competitors with a medical certificate and a valid diving or swimming competition license were allowed to compete. Among the youngest (born in 2016 or later), Dóra Tanyi, Léna Lakics, Botond Vacsi, Lara Kolonics, Benett Pintér, and Zalán Paku were able to stand on the top of the podium. In the II. age group (born in 2014-2015), Roland Győri and Márk Luterán won one gold medal each, and Péter Barna Hajnal was defeated twice. In the age group I (born in 2010-2011), the competition was also fierce, and in many cases it was a matter of nuance. Panni Naomi Végh, Marcell Ádám Vad and Panna Kerka Pocsalyi won twice, while Benedek Áron Németh and Dominik Bozó finished first once. In the age group V (born in 2008-2009), Szilvia Mihánszky and Csaba Levente Fácán won twice, and Boróka Madari, László Dobos, Hanna Bokros and Benedek Boros also won. In the age group VI (born in 2006-2007), Anna Jadviga Varnyu could enjoy four first places, and Megyer Kovács and Máté Pál Szász won gold medals twice.
