Greece at the Center of the Global Finswimming Stage in 2025

In 2025, Greece will hold a prominent place in the global finswimming scene, having been selected to host two major international events. These events will bring the world’s top finswimmers to Greece, placing the country at the epicenter of this dynamic aquatic sport.

Athens to Host World and European Championships

Athens will host two critical competitions in 2025: the CMAS Finswimming World Championship for Juniors and the CMAS European Championship for Seniors. Both events will draw athletes, coaches, officials, and fans from across the globe, boosting Greece’s status in the international finswimming community.

The selection of Greece as the host country for these events is a significant honor. It reflects the country’s proven capability to organize large-scale sporting competitions and showcases Greece’s commitment to promoting finswimming.

Preparations Underway for Successful Events

The Hellenic Swimming Federation (KOE) is already preparing for these prestigious championships. The Federation has expressed its pride in Greece being chosen and has begun working on ensuring that the infrastructure, organizational details, and logistics will meet the highest international standards.

The CMAS Finswimming World Championship for Juniors will feature some of the best young athletes from around the world, while the European Championship will attract elite senior athletes, making both events key highlights of the 2025 finswimming calendar.

A Boost for Greek Aquatic Sports and Tourism

Hosting these international finswimming competitions is expected to have a positive impact not only on the sport’s growth in Greece but also on the country’s economy, particularly in terms of sports tourism. Athens, with its modern facilities and rich history, is an ideal location to host such events. The championships will attract not only athletes and teams but also fans, officials, and tourists, providing a boost to local businesses such as hotels, restaurants, and transportation services.

Additionally, the visibility and media coverage of these competitions will promote Greece as a leading destination for aquatic sports, further encouraging the development of finswimming at both the national and international levels.

A Bright Future for Finswimming in Greece

The Hellenic Swimming Federation has been working hard to promote finswimming across Greece, and hosting these championships will serve as a springboard for the sport’s further development. Greek finswimmers have shown significant improvement in recent years, and the 2025 championships will provide a platform for them to compete on home soil, potentially inspiring a new generation of athletes.

As Greece prepares to welcome the international finswimming community in 2025, the anticipation is high for what promises to be a remarkable series of competitions that will leave a lasting legacy for the sport in the country.
