Italian Finswimming Teams 2019: a little analysis

8 days after the Italian championships in San Marino, the “first” calls for the European national team were finally issued.
With surprise we see that only the athletes who achieved the time limit of table A were called (could they not be published 5 min after the end of the event?) And there are no athletes for the relay races … The only medals, Figini and Campana aside, of the last World Championships that seem to be integrated after the convocations of the open water Italian Championships.
The same is for under 21 (Crisci-Shao-Romano-Biondi) who have achieved the times in table B: will they be integrated after the fund?
Not to mention the performance by Angelo Sciacca that having failed the time limit of a few tenths during the year, not participating in the Italian championships for the combination with those of apnea and having done it outside the maximum time last Sunday was not entered.
PS: Sunday 2nd June we will be 23 days from the start of the European Championships …
Already last year there were controversies over the convocations with 90% of the athletes summoned without having reached the time limit and with a meager medal count, we hope in the non repetition of the situation that would witness a bad management of the situation.

8 giorni dopo i campionati italiani di San Marino finalmente sono state diramate le “prime” convocazioni per la nazionale Europea assoluta.
Con sorpresa vediamo che solo gli atleti che hanno conseguito il tempo limite della tabella A sono stati convocati (non potevano essere pubblicati 5 min dopo la fine della manifestazione?) e non sono previsti atleti per le staffette… Le uniche medaglie, Figini e Campana a parte, degli scorsi mondiali che sembra verranno integrati dopo le convocazioni del fondo.
Stesso discorso per i giovani under 21 (Crisci-Shao-Romano-Biondi ) che hanno conseguito i tempi della tabella B… verranno integrati dopo il fondo?
Tralasciamo la prestazione di Angelo Sciacca che avendo fallito il tempo limite di pochi decimi durante l’anno , non partecipando ai campionati italiani per la concomitanza con quelli di apnea ed avendolo effettuato fuori tempo massimo domenica scorsa non è stato inserito.
PS: Domenica 2 giugno saremo a 23 gg dall’inizio dei campionati…
Già lo scorso anno ci furono polemiche per le convocazioni con il 90% degli atleti convocati senza aver conseguito il tempo limite e con un magro medagliere, speriamo nella non ripetizione della situazione che testimonierebbe una cattiva gestione della situazione.
