The vibrant city of Trieste is once again set to host one of the most exciting national finswimming events in Italy—the 3rd FVG Speed Finswimming Trophy, organized by A.S.D. “Nel Blu.” Scheduled for Sunday, June 15, 2025, this competition promises a full day of aquatic speed and skill at the “Bruno Bianchi” Swimming Centre, a state-of-the-art 50-meter pool located in Largo Ugo Irneri.
A Celebrated Stage for Speed
As a qualifying event for the Italian Speed Championships and part of the FVG Regional Championship, the “Trofeo Nel Blu” is more than just a race. It is a showcase of athletic excellence, sportsmanship, and the growing enthusiasm for finswimming in Italy. This year’s edition also contributes to the Trofeo CONI Friuli Venezia Giulia 2025, further highlighting its importance within the national sporting calendar.
Inclusive and Comprehensive Competition
With races open to all age categories—from young pre-competitive swimmers (B1/B2 and A1/A2) to seasoned Masters and Paralympic athletes—the event embraces inclusivity and encourages participation across a wide range of experience levels. Each athlete may participate in up to two individual events and one relay.
Events will include traditional finswimming distances, such as:
- 50, 100, 200, and 400 meters with fins or monofin
- CMAS-certified versions for elite-level competitors
- Apnea events (50m)
- Unified relays, such as the 4×50 fins free relay and the 4×100 monofin mixed relay
Particularly notable is the special classification derived from the 100m monofin and 4×100 mixed relays in the A1/A2 category, which will contribute to the CONI Regional Trophy rankings.
Precision, Fairness, and Festivity
The event will be timed with official electronic systems provided by F.I.Cr., and judged by the Friuli Venezia Giulia competition officials, ensuring high technical standards throughout the meet.
All participants will receive a commemorative medal, and the top three clubs will be honored with a trophy or plaque based on their collective performance. Relay results will be celebrated but will not count toward the final club standings.
