The Greek finswimming community is preparing for a highlight of the 2025 sporting calendar: the National Finswimming Championships and Pre-Competition Age Group Races, set to take place in Thessaloniki from July 24th to 27th, 2025. The venue for this exciting gathering is the iconic Poseidoneio Swimming Complex, a facility well known for hosting major aquatic competitions in Greece.
This special event, organized under the auspices of the Hellenic Swimming Federation (KOE), promises four days of thrilling underwater speed and youthful enthusiasm, as the best athletes from across the country compete in the sport of Technical Swimming (Τεχνική Κολύμβηση).
Participation Rules and Eligibility
Only clubs that fulfill a set of specific requirements will be allowed to participate. These include:
- Proof of registration with the National Sports Club Registry (GGA).
- An official license recognizing the club for technical swimming.
- A certified coach with the appropriate legal and professional qualifications.
- An active legal employment contract for the coach with the club.
- A detailed list of any additional team personnel (assistant coaches, physiotherapists, etc.).
Failure to meet these criteria will not only bar clubs from participating but may also result in revocation of their special athletic recognition by the General Secretariat of Sports.
Registration Deadlines
Clubs must submit all participation forms, including individual and relay event entries, by Wednesday, July 16, 2025 (23:59) via the official KOE platform. Final deletions must be submitted by Monday, July 21, 2025, to allow for the timely creation of the event schedule.
Teams can still make last-minute deletions up to 30 minutes before each session begins. Official race sheets will be published on Tuesday, July 22. Relay team compositions can be adjusted up to one hour before each session begins.
Pre-Event Training and Technical Meeting
A pre-event training session will be held on Wednesday, July 23, from 16:00 to 19:00, divided into four groups of 45 minutes each. This will be followed by a technical meeting for coaches and team leaders, where final instructions and clarifications will be shared.
Equipment and Safety Checks
The organizers will conduct material inspections only for equipment that does not already carry the CMAS certification label. These checks will be held during the training day and during warm-up sessions on the first day of competition. All monofins must display the official CMAS certification sticker, in accordance with international standards.
