The Turkish Finswimming Individual Championship and National Team Selection Trials, included in the 2026 event calendar of our Underwater Sports Federation, have begun in Edirne.
The championship marathon in finswimming, one of the most important branches of our underwater sports, is being held at the Edirne Youth and Sports Provincial Directorate Olympic Swimming Pool between April 29th and May 3rd with a large number of participating athletes. Competitions will be held in the A, B, C, D, and E age groups in surface double fins, underwater, and scuba disciplines. A total of 405 athletes, 205 men and 200 women, from 28 sports clubs will compete for medals.
Our Federation President, Mr. Kadir Sağlam, expressed his best wishes to all the athletes who will compete in the competitions, stating, “There is a very high level of participation. We are happy about this. After the competitions, we will finalize our national team roster with the best performing male and female athletes. I would like to thank our Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Osman Aşkın Bak, and our Deputy Minister, Mr. Hamza Yerlikaya, as well as the Ministry staff, who have always supported our underwater community in all our activities, and the Edirne Governorship and the Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports, which hosted our organization in Edirne.”
