Italian underwater events canceled, what about other countries?

The Italian Underwater Federation (FIPSAS) announced that, due to the current CORONAVIRUS matter, all the underwater sport events from yesterday and until April 3rd 2020 are canceled. This problem is spreading all over the World, and although we hope otherwise, we are afraid that Italy is only the first country to make these difficult decisions. If things will go on like these, many Finswimming events in the world will be impacted.

We inform you that, following the entry into force of the Decree of the President of the Council of Ministers 4 March 2020, the Federal President, with the note Prot .: 1452 / UM of 5 March 2020, has ordered the interruption and postponement of all competitions, events, instructor courses, conferences, meetings and various meetings scheduled in the time span that runs from today (March 5) until April 3 pv
It will then be the responsibility of the undersigned Federation, in agreement with the organizing Companies, to try to identify, where possible, alternative dates for each individual event that falls within the aforementioned time frame, obviously giving priority to the identification and subsequent insertion of the new dates in the National Race Calendar, at the Italian Championships compared to all other competitions.
Further specific communications will follow regarding the possible recovery of the following sporting events:

– Italian Spring Open Championship for Indoor Freediving Categories;
– Italian Spring Finswimming Championships;
– Italian Underwater Hockey Championship – 2nd day.
