Finswimming is a sport belonging to the aquatic specialties which, using specific equipment (monofin, fins, snorkel or cylinders) allows the athlete to reach much higher speeds than swimming. The Malaysian Finswimming Championships 2024 has been held on June 8th-9th 2024 in the city of Melaka.

TYT Tun Seri Setia Dr. Haji Mohd Ali Bin Mohd Rustam Yang di-Pertua Negeri Melaka was present to complete the Prize Presentation Ceremony of the 2nd Malaysia Finswimming Championship 2024 National Level which took place at the Aquatic Center, Hang Jebat Stadium Melaka.

The arrival of TYT Tun Seri Setia was greeted by YBrs. Tuan Asro bin Haji Ninggal, Director of Melaka State Sports Council; YBrs. Tuan Khairul Adri bin Dato’ Rosli, Director of Melaka State Youth and Sports Department; YBrs. Tuan Suprawee Sukerd, President of World Underwater Federation South East Asia and YBrs. Tuan Ravivarma Sanmugam, President of the Malaysian Finswimming Association.

There will also be finswimming demos for surface events, bifin events, apnea events and immersion events.

Congratulations and well done to the Melaka contingent who have become overall champions for the 2nd Malaysia Finswimming Championship 2024. Congratulations also to Yong Aun Law and Xuan Yun Regina Cheong from Penang who won the best male individual category and the best female individual category.
