World Games Finswimming medals-history 1981-2009
We took from wikipedia [original page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Finswimming_at_the_World_Games] the list of all the medals at the World Games since his first edition, taken in the far 1981 (I was 2 yo) in the city of Santa Clara (California). Juan Fernando Ocampo, Colombian Recordman
During the latest Colombian National Games 2012, the young Juan Fernando Ocampo, that if you don’t know is the Alvaro Hugo Polo’s brother, made 3 Panamerican Records in the races of 100 sf in 35″72, 200 sf in 1’21″73 and 400 sf with 3’04″28. Liu Jiao: a Finswimmer Magazine fan from China!
Her name is Liu Jiao and she is a Finswimming Star in Asia. In 2011 she won various races at the Finswimming World Championships in Hódmezővásárhely (Hungary). She got Gold Medals in 400m sf, 800m sf, 1500m sf, 400m im, 800m im and she set the New World Records in 400m sf, 800m sf, 1500m sf.Si chiama Liu Jiao ed è una Star del Nuoto Pinnato in Asia. Nel 2011 ha vinto numerose gare ai Campionati del Mondo di Nuoto Pinnato ad Hódmezővásárhely (Ungheria). Back to the past – Bolzano 1976
The Adige river in Italy was used once as place in which one of the best and hardest Finswimming Competition took place, it was called Coppa Primavera di Bolzano (now it is taken in the Monticolo lake) and it was valid as the Italian Round of the Coupe de Corlieu. It was exactly on May 23th 1976. This is a video from the far 1976 that shows about one hundred finswimmers was competing between the towns of Vilpiano e Ponte Adige with a total distance of 10 kms.
